Veronica is the founder of Dahlia Skin Studio, a holistic skincare studio offering plant-based, organic facial treatments and sugaring hair removal.
Veronica's skincare treatments are rooted in healing the skin from within, and take a whole-body approach to achieving glowing skin. By using ancient modalities like gua sha, lymphatic drainage techniques and upper body/facial massage, blood flow is enhanced, relieving tension and producing the ultimate skin glow.
After experiencing acne most of her life, Veronica healed her skin by switching to plant-based ingredient skincare, incorporating yoga, and decreasing dairy intake. She has a passion for helping individuals heal any skin concerns they may be experiencing, educating others on the magical powers of plants and natural alternatives to their skincare ritual, and creating a safe space that brings much peace, love and relaxation to anyone who steps into Dahlia Skin Studio at The Plum Organic Beauty.
Veronica enjoys spending quality time with her family (she's a mama of four!) and hiking. She has a deep love and appreciation for meditation and cultivates her practice daily.
After having clear skin for the first half of her life, Chelsea struggled with deep, cystic acne in her early 20's. Not knowing how to fix this, she consulted a dermatologist. Instead of offering insight into how the problem occurred, she was given prescriptions for medication. Growing up in a home that used natural methods, she decided that there had to be a natural way to get to the bottom of her acne. It was from this desire that she wanted to have a better understanding of her skin and figure out how to make it healthy again.
Chelsea received her esthetics license in New York City from the Christine Valmy School of Esthetics in 2012. Ms. Valmy pioneered the skincare profession in the United States and actually coined the term "skin care." This was Chelsea's school of choice due to the fact that they focused on organic ingredients and products, it was family-owned and women-run. They also have a deep focus in using facial treatments and massage techniques for preventative anti-aging solutions.
Chelsea's belief is that having healthy skin isn't just about the products you use. It is a combination of what you eat, your thoughts and exercise as well as clean products with no harsh ingredients. With beauty standards today encouraging heavy make-up application and alterations to the face to combat the aging process, her desire is to help encourage women and men to love the skin they are in and be proud to show off their natural face.
All products used are organic, cruelty-free, and developed in small batches for high quality and freshness. Ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions are used to produce products that improve the health and look of skin and deliver long-term results.
All treatments have a focus on lymphatic drainage, lifting, sculpting, and de-puffing the face using specific massage techniques.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and drawing.
After getting my esthetics license in 2014 I started working and flourishing as an esthetician. But I was not feeling good about the results I was getting with the products I had been using on my clients. I decided to go on a search to find cleaner skincare. I found a Spa in San Francisco whose owner at the time was creating the beginning stages of Botnia Skincare. I worked at that spa until 2020 and then opened my own space in Half Moon Bay for 2 years until I moved here to Sacramento. I am so happy with the results I have been able to give clients using the Botnia Skincare line and in my findings and learnings I love to share. My philosophy for skin is that everything in our bodies is connected and can show up within our skin. I like to get to the root cause of the issue and also I am here to support you along the way and encourage a good homecare routine. I am a lover of nature and all things natural. In my free time I love a good estate sale and a hike with my dogs.
