Danica has created a fully holistic beauty environment within The Plum. Owner of spaces in San Francisco and Sacramento, she has curated every detail carefully to invoke a sense of well-being and beauty. She works with Organic Colour Systems and Kevin Murphy haircolor, free of ammonia and other harmful toxins. Danica chooses brands that meet high standards for organic ingredients and eco-consciousness, down to the packaging. The salon starts from the principle that beauty begins within; including what we eat, how much water we drink, what products we use on our skin, and how we treat the environment around us.
Bringing more than 25 years of industry experience, Danica is an American Board Certified Haircolorist (2003) specializing in non-toxic color, cutting, and styling. She opened Atlanta's (2007) and San Francisco's (2009) first fully organic salons and has now added a holistic salon/spa in Sacramento (2021). She has been featured on TBS's Movie and a Makeover, Good Day Sacramento, and Your California Life. The Plum has been featured in Allure and Lucky. The Plum won Best of San Francisco 2018 with San Francisco Magazine. She has also produced work at Intercoiffure.
Danica is a graduate of the Integrative Institute of Nutrition and incorporates health and life coaching into her salon sessions. She also completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014. Her unique approach cultivates her clients' core beauty, starting from within and moving outward. Danica creates an individual experience for each person through her holistic approach to beauty. Working with her is inspiring because of her quest for joy, passion for creating beauty, and most importantly, for loving oneself.
When not at The Plum, Danica spends most of her time studying interior design and helping others create inspired spaces. She is now also available for design consultations.
Celina is a Sacramento native who is passionate about beauty, art, wellness, and helping others feel their best. Her journey in the beauty industry began in skincare and quickly led to an apprenticeship at Deeda salon in Sacramento. She fell in love with creating haircuts that enhance natural texture and can be easily styled with little effort.
Celina is a firm believer in using local and organic materials, whether it be beauty products, cleaning products, the food she eats or the clothes she wears. Her way of life mirrors her work in the salon — mindful and intentional. She loves cooking, sharing meals with family and friends, finding inspiration in textiles, interior design, and anything vintage. Celina is an avid knitter, and has been sewing since she was a child.
Born and raised in California, Adrienne believes the sun, the sea, and a great haircut can fix almost anything. With a background in education from Jayne Matthews of Edo Salon and Pony educator Corinna Hernandez, she approaches haircuts intuitively, creating custom cuts that grow out beautifully. She believes that good hair begins with a healthy scalp care routine by using products free of artificial ingredients. She’s heavily influenced by styles of the 1960’s and 70’s and has been called a ‘bangs whisperer’. She smiles with her whole face and she gives with her whole heart. When she’s not in the salon you can find her exploring AirBnB, making playlists for upcoming road trips, and losing herself in French films and various documentaries.
Veronica is the founder of Dahlia Skin Studio, a holistic skincare studio offering plant-based, organic facial treatments and sugaring hair removal.
Veronica's skincare treatments are rooted in healing the skin from within, and take a whole-body approach to achieving glowing skin. By using ancient modalities like gua sha, lymphatic drainage techniques and upper body/facial massage, blood flow is enhanced, relieving tension and producing the ultimate skin glow.
After experiencing acne most of her life, Veronica healed her skin by switching to plant-based ingredient skincare, incorporating yoga, and decreasing dairy intake. She has a passion for helping individuals heal any skin concerns they may be experiencing, educating others on the magical powers of plants and natural alternatives to their skincare ritual, and creating a safe space that brings much peace, love and relaxation to anyone who steps into Dahlia Skin Studio at The Plum Organic Beauty.
Veronica enjoys spending quality time with her family (she's a mama of four!) and hiking. She has a deep love and appreciation for meditation and cultivates her practice daily.
After having clear skin for the first half of her life, Chelsea struggled with deep, cystic acne in her early 20's. Not knowing how to fix this, she consulted a dermatologist. Instead of offering insight into how the problem occurred, she was given prescriptions for medication. Growing up in a home that used natural methods, she decided that there had to be a natural way to get to the bottom of her acne. It was from this desire that she wanted to have a better understanding of her skin and figure out how to make it healthy again.
Chelsea received her esthetics license in New York City from the Christine Valmy School of Esthetics in 2012. Ms. Valmy pioneered the skincare profession in the United States and actually coined the term "skin care." This was Chelsea's school of choice due to the fact that they focused on organic ingredients and products, it was family-owned and women-run. They also have a deep focus in using facial treatments and massage techniques for preventative anti-aging solutions.
Chelsea's belief is that having healthy skin isn't just about the products you use. It is a combination of what you eat, your thoughts and exercise as well as clean products with no harsh ingredients. With beauty standards today encouraging heavy make-up application and alterations to the face to combat the aging process, her desire is to help encourage women and men to love the skin they are in and be proud to show off their natural face.
All products used are organic, cruelty-free, and developed in small batches for high quality and freshness. Ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions are used to produce products that improve the health and look of skin and deliver long-term results.
All treatments have a focus on lymphatic drainage, lifting, sculpting, and de-puffing the face using specific massage techniques.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and drawing.
